I don’t believe on LinkedIn posting and I hardly believe that anyone reads articles anymore. Since through AI, article generation became an easy task for everyone, naïve enough to believe that this technology will replace human charisma.
I do it however for 2 reasons.
First to have a presence, secondly to keep going and train my mind on righting small articles.
What is the decisive factor, that factor that gives leverage on collaborations and partnerships, that factor that multiplies skills and is the key to success or failure.
As a Greek it seems to me that northern Europeans, especially those ones coming from countries that operate efficiently and good public service is available to most forget that one factor that makes the difference.
You see in Greece, a failed state for European standards, you are lost, you are done, unless you have connections.
Connections is the key to survive in the business world, and I don’t mean simply knowing people or liking a post or commenting on someone else post, just to get the illusion of some visibility, but I mean true connections of significance.
In the freelancing world where I am active there is a big issue. It is called loyalty! Yes, you can hire that freelancer or the other one that have X, Y, Z skills, but at the end of the day is not only the skills you buy but is the extra mile that someone will go for you. Get an honest opinion, pass a proposal to someone of interest, be introduced to a company, or a Decision Maker of Interest, having someone you know you can rely.
I see, specially on the newer generation of 30-year-old, employee mindset individuals that do not care at all on being trusted, creating connections that matter. Everything is just a work, skills matter more than integrity, politeness over character, being liked being more important than standing for something. NO, IT TAKES MORE THAN THAT!
A fried is more than an individual with skills, your life partner is more than just a man or a woman than you share a common life, your kids are more than just young people that share a common DNA with you.
It is the connection between you that leverages all their abilities, that multiplies the skills of each one of you.
Next time, you will not thank someone that helped you, you ignore the one he put effort because you asked him for, not because its part of his job, but because YOU were the one that asked for it, next time you do so, you know, you can not count anymore on him.
Because maybe at the present moment you don’t see any need, but life has turns.
Good luck
